Come on does nobody else see it. I love him but Miyamoto is off his rocker. New Horizens and Mario Kart 8 are on the top 15 and top 10 best selling games all time. 30 million is a mark something Xbox and Playstation have never done even with a 3rd party game. They could never sell another 30 million title and be just fine. Also 30 million titles are predominantly titles that are not very story driven and very formula driven like Mario kart, wii sports, smash, or wii fit.

If Nintendo games don't constantly hit 30 million+ copies, you're gonna slowly see the repercussions over time, this goes in tangent with new hardware, new hardware means that they can do more, which is great but the budgets will go up, Nintendo does not know what its truly like to spend 300-500 million on game development but they'll get there. Then when games don't start selling like they want with increased development costs, they'll either bury the i.p. or port it to other eco systems to get the return on the development cost. Console exclusivity doesn't mean as much as it use to and Nintendo are still trying to hold out.

Business isn’t just about immediate success, it’s also about playing the long-game. Zelda Skyward Sword had a better polished story, more interesting game mechanics, and a more balanced “open world” than Breath of the Wild, but Breath of the Wild further developed the enemy design from Skyward Sword, where Link has to be smart and sneaky to capitalize on the enemies being cute but tribe-like and not very developed mentally. Skyward Sword motion controls were ahead of their time, but the art style and motion controls got polished with the Switch remake. Nintendo (at least until now) seems to take the long-game in focusing on innovation and fine-tuning later as they have more resources. Also, yeah they were really rude to Shigeru Miyamoto. He’s a great marketer who seems to take a real interest in the series not getting completely sabotaged, and it’s a shame that just trying to do your job well gets you this.

Well, if they can make animal crossing a better farming sim, adding comfy rpg elements to it, and more open world, I'm gonna buy it. For now it's just a cute game with crafting

People shouldn't be able to buy things they can't use just cuz they're not born with good coordination, then have to sell them. Cuz There's no way to know exactly how hard a game is gunna be for u until u play it, everyone is different. So not putting difficulty options in games shouldn't even be allowed

I'm of the opinion that games should strive to be challenging for skilled gamers and then provide a normal or easy mode for the general public. Often times I find the fun of games to wear off as I get deeper into them if they stop challenging me. Particularly these open world games. They get way too easy the farther you get into it. I like if I don't beat a boss the first time I see it. Somewhere between like 2-10 times is good. Not necessarily every boss but you get what I mean. A lot of games aren't really built to be hard and when they provide a hard mode they just up the damage and health... it's boring. Design the game to be hard and challenging at a mechanical level and then make it easier for the casuals from there. And remember souls games have ton of tools you can use to make the game easier. Especially elden ring. Casuals should feel free to use them.

The writer for prime 4 story is the same person who wrote, Star Wars Fallen Order and Transformers Reactivate!!!! So exciting I was hyped when we first heard of all these people being hired, but seeing the extensive list now literally makes me giddy!!

Ok here is my Hot take for Metroid prime 4 arm cannon concept The only thing I ask for Samus arm canon to be customizable. What I mean is for her to beams can mixed with different kinds of beams so that the person can play in there unique way. (Making up names for beams) scatter beam sniper beam, rapid beam just to name a few. Not only beams perhaps the rockets as well!! How much fun that would be!! Imagine her looking upon her arm cannon before a big fight and preparing accordingly, and her and part of her arm cannon has a mini screen for you to mix it up or a save station or missile room which ever!! That would be awesome!! Ohh!!

A lot of those credits for MP4 staff who have worked on multiplayer games before were listed as artists. Environment artists, etc. I doubt they would have much role in implementing multiplayer, not that I think it’s impossible for there to be a multiplayer mode. Just worth considering.

I wonder what they are gonna do for multiplayer (MP). I would sugest PvE for Metroid. Imagine something like Helldivers 2. You make a team of customized bounty hunters taking a bounty from the Federation, so, up to 4 players go into a planet to find stuff fighting against fauna in a planet with ancient chozo or civ ruins. Orr a space pirate station on a planet. An old space station. Maybe something like a Raid from WoW, where you level up and loot part of your gear and go into stronger and stronger raids. Maybe that's Warfrane. I think this would make a Metroid MP better.

I think they should add multiplayer as a DLC for the game. They should focus more on gameplay and story for single player

I'm a nintendo/pc guy but I think Xbox is looking alot better off than Sony. Xbox was built to provide value without the exclusives, and for Sony, exclusives is all playstation had. Now that the exclusives are gone it doesn't offer anything except overpriced hardware with poor software, Xbox does a better job with crossplay and easy gaming and is cheaper, so what's the point of playstation at all?

I agree it's very heavy influenced developers from the west with tons of high end experience with on=line play. Even if it doesn't I'm okay with it.

I see no evidence of multiplayer tbh. i see those developer listings and just see people that worked on FPS and adventure games, which is what Prime 4 is. No cloud saves if that's even true doesn't necessarily mean multiplayer either.

What are they doing different? That's what they have yet to show. What are the new mechanics? She needs to have take down an execution that take you out of first person and into third person like Call of Duty. And the game needs to launch with a arm cannon to further emergencies into the story and Being Samus

I think Twilight Princess will happen for sure. For one thing, a boxset of English translated volumes of the Manga is set to be released in the Fall. Maybe Nintendo will have a Switch co-inside with the release of it. Don’t quote me on that though.

Honestly, Metroid prime 4 doesn’t need multiplayer, it just doesn’t fit. Just because it’s a first person shooter doesn’t mean you have to include a multiplayer mode. I’d rather this game be a very storage driven action. Focus title did not have to split up any teams just to make up, multiplayer maps and stuff like that. Even in prime 2 the multiplayer mode wasn’t really all that it kind of felt tacked on because of the pressure of other first person shooters that she had multiplayer. The only game multiplayer sort of worked was in prime hunters, that’s the exception

Metroid hunters multiplayer was amazing, lets hope we get both single player and multiplayer with all the hunters making a return, could be epic !!!! Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞

Or the staff is just heavily experienced in first person games. Metroid tried multiplayer a couple times already, it never ended well in any. Well Hunters was decently received but not monstrous sales or anything.

Assuming Prime 4 has multiplayer, no cloud save is kinda silly. Splatoon 3 already solved this problem by having cloud saves for its singleplayer components, but having the multiplayer ranks and progress be server-side...

What stands out to me that a lot of the games those devs worked on previously turned out to be absolute shite XD. Let's hope those devs left because they where frustrated with their company and teamed up to create something great.

The only way I see it having a pvp mode that isn't terrible is if it's like a new age GoldenEye or something. Perhaps some horde modes or something or mission based multiplayer

I don't mind Multiplayer at all, as long as it's done the way Prime Hunters was done, but with enhanced visuals, more powers, more bounty hunters, and different weapons, it'd be solid. 4 v 4 would be cool. Just expand on that.

Blaster arms are stupid.. why would you want to lose the use of an entire hand when you could just hold a gun and still have said hand

If they reveal that there will be more hunters introduced in this game, I would start holding my breath for multiplayer, but until then... well yeah, don't do that. While it isn't new, it is IMO, very unlikely. I really don't have the words to explain why I think that. It just wouldn't make sense given the recent history with Metroid. Unless, again, they introduce new Hunters. Even then, I think they really would need another game to flesh out the ideas. This is the first Metroid game for this team. Sure, Retro made MP1-3, but the people working on MP4 are a whole different team. They are really just getting to know how to make *A* Metroid Prime game. The team is also much smaller than other AAA studios, so again, don't hold your breath.
